Nothing wrong with a bit of fizz, or the odd pint, a glass of wine every now and again…

(Not all at once obvs… haha)

BUT,

Could your alcohol intake be the source of your weight management problems over recent months/ years?

Carbohydrates = 4 calories per gram
Protein = 4 calories per gram
Alcohol = 7 calories per gram
Fat = 9 calories per gram…

With the calorie density of Alcohol not too far of that of fat, it’s not hard to see how the total cals can spiral if alcohol is your thing regularly.

Especially at weekends for many!

1 glass turns into 6…
1 Pint turns into 5…
1 Cocktail turns into 4…
…we’ve all been there 😉

Just to put it into perspective:

Let’s say your calorie intake goals are 1400 cals per day to lose your goal weight per week.

That’s Just under 10,000 cals per week.

Let’s say Saturday you end up with 6 glasses of red and a kebab…

6x 250ml Wine = 1284 cals
Kebab/ Takeaway = 1000+ Cals…

You’ve ended up with at least 23% of your WEEKLY calorie intakes coming from ONE night out…

Pretty easy now to see how this can affect results right?
