I wanted to share with you a very important area that is often overlooked.

It’s that important that within scientific research papers there is a mathematical equation dedicated to working out the ‘Statistical Significance’ of a result or results from an experiment.

 

To cut a long story short here, let me give you two examples to outline my point:

1.If you consume a supplement and it gives you 0.5% improvement to your strength for example after 10 weeks of use.

-Could we say that is improves your performance?? YES

-Could we say that it significantly improves your performance?? No.

  1. If it gave you a 20% improvement in strength when consumed for 10 weeks…

-Could we say that is improves your performance?? YES

-Could we say that it significantly improves your performance?? YES.

 

All good!!!

 

Ok so why am I telling you this?? What actual practical application does ‘significance’ have in your life right now?

 

Well- almost each and every week we have some sort of decision to make as to whether or not a supplement, food or drink is actually going to benefit us in our goals.

 

What would give you a more significant result in your weight management? Controlling your calorie deficit or taking a ‘fat burning’ pill??

 

Calorie deficit!

What is going to give you the most significant benefit in the vitamin and mineral world? A multivitamin tablet? Or an amazing quality balanced diet including a variety of fruit and veg each day?

 

The balanced diet!

Next time a new supplement or SUPERSHAKE or REVOLUTIONARY NEW SUPERFOOD comes onto the market, it may very well assist you with your journey in some way. But do your research; does it actually do what it says that it does? If so is it a significant improvement?
